Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect to join our dynamic digital agency team. We are looking for someone with experience working on a variety of projects, including enterprise web and mobile solutions involving large backends with multiple integrations.

As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing innovative, scalable, and efficient technology solutions that align with our clients' business objectives.

You will be expected to get involved and dive into technical challenges in a hands-on way and have a positive, can-do attitude that understands and works within the constraints of a project.

As part of the Solution Design team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, designers, and business stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of cutting-edge digital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical solutions. Create solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, and design documentation that outline the technical approach, components, and integration points.

• Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and platforms in the digital space. Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and third-party solutions that align with project goals and client needs.

• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Lead discussions with clients and internal teams to make informed technical decisions, address challenges, and ensure project milestones are met.

• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, developers, designers, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of solutions. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and cross-functional cooperation.

• Architecture Governance: Establish and enforce best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines. Conduct regular code reviews and architecture assessments to ensure adherence to established standards and identify areas for improvement.

• Scalability and Performance: Design solutions with scalability, performance, and security in mind. Identify potential bottlenecks and propose solutions to optimise system performance and enhance user experience.

• Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges early in the project lifecycle. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address technical, operational, and business-related risks.

• Client Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including clients and business executives. Participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations to provide technical insights and build client trust.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience (2+ years) in solution architecture within a digital agency or similar environment.

• Strong expertise in a variety of technologies, including but not limited to mobile and web development frameworks...

• Strong experience producing technical design assets, for a variety of audiences, such as sequence, high level system, infrastructure and networking diagrams.

• Hands on experience in Azure working with App Services, VMs, Databases, API Management services.

• Experience working on mobile (iOS or Android) projects from technical design to launch.

• Familiarity with architectural design models such as C4 framework and UML.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively with clients.

• Whilst this is not a team lead role, it is desirable to have had previous experience leading technical teams.

• In-depth knowledge of software design patterns, architectural principles, and best practices for building scalable and maintainable systems.

• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Experience in client-facing roles, with a customer-centric approach to solution design.

A Typical Day:

• Attending SCRUM meetings

• On hand to answer technical questions as required

• Attending technical elaborations (internal and external) to discuss ideas and options -or- present and talk through existing solution design documentation

• Server monitoring

• Technical analysis of a variety of topics

• Designing solutions for streams of work, including writing Solution Design documentation and diagrams
